This moderate size house, circa 1980, had already been enlarged to a big house, circa 2003, but had an identity crisis of the old and new. The project was for that house to become a bigger house to be used as a family retreat; expansive enough for the whole extended family for holidays and vacations on a lake point, yet comfortable for just the nuclear family when home alone. The existing portion of the house was renovated to provide guest suites for extended family, with other portions of the house to be used for multiple gathered activities inside and outside. A new separate accessory dwelling was added to house the master bedroom and living suite quarters. This new addition also houses entertaining space, office space, exercise room and observatory.
