This traditional home had an outside patio that was hot in the summer, wet in the winter and surrounded by overgrown landscaping. There was no connecting flow between the interior living space and itself. Covering the patio with a large open porch gives the space shelter from the hot summer sun and cold rain, as well as creates a transition between the interior and outdoor living spaces. This outdated traditional home is now refreshed with a European style Palladian porch that is both welcoming and functional for today’s living and serves as a relaxing living and dining space that can be enjoyed year round.
